First of all English is not my first language so I hope you guys can bear with it and I won’t go into detail about the story because it’s going to be more like my own self-opinion about the drama, so yeah everyone has their own perspective right?
Well, I’ll start the review right away. The story begins with Baek Mari’s (Seolhyun) old story, the story was about her being treated as she was a monster. This experience lead her into a trauma, so she decided not to make any friends. Then back to present, when she is going to her new school on a subway there, she meets Jung Jaemin (Yeo Jingoo) for the first time . There happened a vampire was doing sexual abuse to a woman and had recognized by surrounding people. He tried to run away but then he dropped a milk-like-packaged-blood that then someone stepped on it and Mari who was trying to reach the milk-like-packaged-blood froze.Left in shock. Jaemin who was there was trying to help Mari who was froze with blood all over her face and body but then Mari ran away. This meeting left a deep impression on Jung Jaemin. Then, they happened to be classmates at school. end of the story.
I think this scene is fine, Seolhyun’s acting is better than what I have expected. Her chemistry with Yeo Jingoo is developed. Its nice to see them both. It’s not cringe-worthy , not really. Move to the next highlight…
In the classroom a video of an interview of a vampire was going viral. The whole class talked about it, people cursed vampires and it was predictable that Mari became uncomfortable. She didn’t want if her vampire identity was known by her schoolmates. At lunch she ate a lot of garlic to convince her schoolmates that she wasn’t a vampire. But later she threw it out in the restroom. Poor Baek Mari she couldnt digest it. Then she ate her real lunch, a tomato juice-like-packaged-blood. To be very honest the blood’s color doesn’t look like one. It’s kinda weird, IMO.
This one is going to be about The neck kiss. The scene was after school when they were heading back home on subway when Mari was sleeping and dreaming. In he dream she smelled a nice smell which lately known came from Jung Jaemin and the next thing happened was she kissing Jaemin’s neck unconsciously. Jaemin remained freeze. An old man seemed to had been distubed by her act so he warned her, but she was unconscious so… he got ignored LOL. Not long, Mari was back to her sense she was shamed so she ran away. Coincidentally she dropped her music book that later was taken by Jaemin.
This is one of my favorite the scene. It is just sweet. Yeo Jingoo’s acting when he froze because of the kiss was just too real to be true haha. Cute! You have to watch it by yourself. Their chemistry is getting better, i think.
The next day Jaemin asked Mari to apologize and he said that he was going to accept her apology.Mari had no idea who Jaemin was, so she asked him. Jaemin sigh in disbelief. He said that he was going to make it hard so Mari had to remember and apologize. Jingoo face was so cute lol, esp. when Mari said that he smells. Jaemin asked her does she like music? Mari lied. Then asked again If she knew how to play guitar? Mari said no, she lied. But then Jaemin showed her her music book, she took it right away and bumped into the subway. Then there was a scene that Jaemin took a bath while talking to himself. Why did Baek Mari did that to him. I think this scene was unnecessary but that’s funny and I would like to take it as a fanservice, lol yeah ikr.
Later someone asked Jaemin to meet up I find out that he was his step-father and also his teacher at school. They met on a cafe, Jaemin stepfather asked him to join the school band. He refused.Indeed he said that he won’t ever do that, ever. The stepfather lost his word then he decided to gave him a gift that her mom asked him to handed it over Jaemin. “Is it okay to take it and throw it into a trash bin right away?” that was what Jaemin said, then he was about to go when he heard someone sang! Yes it’s Baek Mari. End of The First Episode.
PS :
Well in this first episode the story changed a bit. The teacher that appeared to be school’s band founder originally was Jaemin’s mother on the webtoon but In this drama it’s appears as Jaemin’s stepfather. Well, I think this change is a big deal while the other changes didn’t affect much in the drama. Ah! and the vampire interview that was Han Shihoo (Jonghyun) appeared faster than the webtoon version. But I’m happy that he is going to show up soon haha I totally love his character in the webtoon. Well, women do love Bad Guy better. I can’t help it. Actually I also think that the character of Jung Jaemin was slightly changed he appeared to be a cold man at first on the webtoon but I dont know why in the drama version he turned out a little bit silly so the whole feels became different. The Soori character actually disappoint me I love Soori in the webtoon version huhuu. Right FYI, actually this drama comes out once in a week, showing 2 episodes in a row so I will make another review soon
